Assault

Following an altercation outside a bar, our client was charged with assault. During the trial, we were able to highlight the conditions for the application of self-defense and our client was acquitted.

Impaired driving

Our client was arrested for driving his motor vehicle while impaired. Unfortunately, it was a second similar offense for him within five years.

After several months of negotiations, we convinced the prosecution not to file the notice of recidivism in court. Our client was therefore able to avoid a minimum sentence of 30 days’ imprisonment.

Discharge

We were consulted by an individual who had been arrested during a quarrel between neighbors. He was facing a charge of mischief for deliberately damaging his neighbor’s fence. He was facing a charge of mischief for deliberately damaging his neighbor’s fence.

Despite his guilt, we made representations to the court so that he could be discharged and thereby avoid a criminal record.

Highway Safety Code

Our client was stopped by the police for using her cell phone while driving. We were able to convince the prosecution that a withdrawal of the charge was appropriate in the circumstances and thus avoid the loss of five demerit points to our client.
